All nonprofits are vetted before they can run a TapKat sweepstakes
To protect donors, TapKat qualifies every nonprofit that applies to join the TapKat fundraising community. The nonprofit must be based in the U.S. And their nonprofit status must have been granted by the IRS for at least 1 year. We check their track record to make sure the organization is in good standing.
How is TapKat different from other online fundraising platforms?
Donations go directly to the nonprofit
Many online fundraising platforms hold all the money collected until the fundraiser ends. We don’t think that’s the right thing to do. TapKat believes that nonprofits should be able to put your donations to work now. So when you make a donation to enter a TapKat sweepstakes, the funds go directly to the nonprofit running the sweepstakes (modest fees for the TapKat platform and credit card processor are deducted).
How much money has been raised?
A lot of fundraising platforms that run raffles, sweepstakes or other types of give-aways don’t show you how much money has been raised. It’s like your donation is just going into a dark hole! We believe that transparency is essential to nonprofit fundraising. Every TapKat sweepstakes site shows you the total donations made right at the top of the page. And that number is updated in real time with each and every donation. Because you deserve to know!
Who is the winner?
Winners are also a mystery at some sweepstakes and raffle fundraising platforms. That just makes you wonder – is this fundraiser is actually legit. Every TapKat sweepstakes has a winner and every winner is posted on the sweepstakes site. Plus, TapKat sweepstakes sites remain active even after the winner has been drawn so you can see the winning ticket number and the name of the winner.
